There is a virtually endless list of things to do when staying at our charming vacation oceanfront rental. Roberts Cottages #20 vacation beachfront rental puts you in the perfect position for easy access to all of what Southern California has to offer, from Los Angeles to San Diego.

Amusement Parks

The location of our Oceanside beach rental provides easy access to amusement parks throughout the region. Legoland is literally just a few minutes away in Carlsbad, and a short drive down the Interstate-5 into San Diego will bring you to Sea World, and just a bit further into the South Bay will take you to the Knott’s Soak City Waterpark in Chula Vista. With a slightly longer drive on the I-5 North, you can be at Magic Mountain or Knott’s Berry Farm. And from there it isn’t much further to get to Disneyland & California Adventure, the ideal vacation destination for kids and the young-at-heart.

Zoo

The whole family will also enjoy the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park, which is located in nearby Escondido, just a short drive from our property. You can get up close to the elephants, feed the giraffes, cruise past the napping lions and tour a realistic African outback without leaving the country. No trip to San Diego would be complete without a trip to the zoo, though, which is located in the heart of Balboa Park near downtown. The San Diego Zoo is well known for being one of the best zoos in the nation, if not the world, and features a host of exhibits and events that are constantly being updated.

Museums

San Diego is full of museums and aquariums if you’re looking for a little culture during your stay at our vacation beach rental. Balboa Park has numerous large museums such as the Museum of Man, Natural History Museum and Museum of Art. With a host of smaller and more dedicated museums, cultural centers and gardens to explore in Balboa Park, there is sure to be something for everyone to enjoy. This long list includes the Centro Cultural de la Raza, Japanese Friendship Garden, Marston House, Mingei International Museum, Museum of Photographic Arts, Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, Air & Space Museum, San Diego Automotive Museum, Hall of Champions Sports Museum, San Diego History Center, San Diego Model Railroad Museum, Timken Museum of Art, Veterans Museum & Memorial Center and WorldBeat Center. There are also two Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego locations, in La Jolla and downtown San Diego.

The Birch Aquarium is another fascinating and educational destination to enjoy in San Diego. The aquarium is a part of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography at the University of California- San Diego, and features everything from whale watching to an ever-changing list of exhibits. Make sure to check out what the latest exhibit is when you’re booking your stay at our San Diego vacation rental.

Sports

If you’re a sports fan, you may also want to check out a local football or baseball game while you’re here. The San Diego Chargers play right in San Diego’s Mission Valley at Qualcomm Stadium, and the new Petco Park in the heart of downtown hosts all the Padres at-home ball games. And it’s just a short drive north to catch an Angels, Dodgers, Clippers, Lakers, Kings or Ducks game.
